The Deadline is February 10th!

With a deadline for submissions of Monday, February 10th we are still looking for a couple more women in the South Florida area with rescue horses for our 2015 calendar project.  As you can see from the excellent examples above of Steampunk wear, you can create a look that is as simple or elaborate as you would like.  If you have any questions, concern or comments, please contact Tyra @ 305-992-2769 orsouthfloridahorseconnection@gmail.com.  We are looking forward to the next stage in the project!

This type of training is invaluable!

Rescuers learn to herd sheep, coax horses out of harms way
Rebecca Gimenez with TLAER will be coming to the S FL area next weekend for a 2 day course, but this was that was put on in Daytona looks more like what we need here given our propensity to hurricanes.  Would this be something you would be interested in and would you attend?

Only 3 spots remain…who will be the lucky 3?

Ok, we only have three remaining spots available for our calendar!  If you have rescued a horse (doesn't have to be from a local rescue, can be from any situation) or know someone that has and would like to participate in this project featuring you, your horse and your story, please let me know as soon as possible!  The "theme" of our calendar is Steampunk.  Yes, we are looking for every day horse women, but every day horse women can be sexy without being "over-exposed".  Currently we have all ages, sizes and shapes representing this project, so don't count yourself out just because you feel that you may not be young enough or slim enough.  ALL women are beautiful and we intend on showing just that in this calendar.  We are just asking that you dress the part and take a professional picture so that we can sell the calendars to give part of the proceeds to two lucky local horse rescues!  If this sounds like something you would be interested in, or you would like to recommend someone, please email southfloridahorseconnection@gmail.com or call Tyra 305-992-2769.  We have an incredible list of wonderful women that have already signed on, so don't miss out including yourself and your horse!

Horses retire in Florida too!

Florida is a retirement spot for horses, too
What a wonderful service these two people provide!  I know nothing personally about this facility, but for as long as they have been around they obviously are doing something right! Bless them for what they do to provide a loving environment for these retired horses!

To Clarify….

I have received many inquiries about what exactly the look of Steampunk is.  I had included pictures previously of more elaborate outfits, but the look is really a creative one.  One that can actually be put together with maybe items that you may already have tucked away in your closet!  The other comments that I have received has been about age.  Currently we have all ages for the calendar from 16-58.  Ladies, you are beautiful at any age and what a great expression of your love for your rescue horse, then to play dress up like you were little and not only show off what you have but what your horse has as well!  If you still have any questions, concerns or comments, you can email southfloridahorseconnection@gmail.com or call 305-992-2769

Only 4 spots are left!

Ok, so there are only 4 spots left for the calendar that the South Florida Horse Connection is creating featuring S FL women that have rescued a horse(s).  If you may know of someone who may be a little shy and would like to nominate them for the calendar, please forward the information to:  southfloridahorseconnection@gmail.com.  The theme of the calendar will be Steampunk, which you can make as simple or elaborate as you would like.  There is no need for a full body shot of you and your horse(s).  If you would feel more comfortable with just a head shot, that will work too. We are looking for women of all ages and can't wait to hear their stories of how they came to rescue their equine companions!  If you have any questions at all, please feel free to send an email to the address above, or call Tyra at 305-992-2769.  Please remember that a portion of the proceeds will go to two local rescues to be named when all 12 women have been selected for the project.

The proof is in!

About a year ago, I decided to not chemically worm my horse Eros anymore.  I had done some research and decided it was time to try something a little more natural and non-evasivie.  I am by nature a skeptic, so I have to be shown things work before I believe it.  Well after a year on an Equine Herbal Wormer from Earth Song Ranch I had a fecal count test done on Eros.  It came back negative!  So now more than ever, I would like to recommend this product to anyone and everyone who is tired of chemically worming their horse(s).  Although they say their 8 oz container only lasts 2 months, I get close to 4 and use the recommended dosage.  One of the ingredients is cayanne pepper, so you probably will sneeze every time you open the container to add it to your horses feed, but they love it!  I would never recommend something that I don't have personal experience with, so you can definitely take my word for it, this product really does the job against worms!  Please contact www.earthsongranch.com to order yours today/to ask Jessica any questions you may have about this product (or any of the others they carry).
