7 Horses perish in barn fire in Lake Worth, FL

Seven horses were killed midday Saturday and four injured when a fire broke out in a barn adjacent to the Gulfstream Polo Club.  Witnesses say the fire quickly engulfed the barn with thick smoke and flames so intense it was impossible to rescue the horses inside.  The barn was destroyed so fast that it is believed that the deaths of the horses were almost immediate.  According to Captain Borroto a spokesman for Fire Rescue, investigators concluded that the fire was caused by an electrical overload inside of a tack room that was being used as a kitchen.
