Free Training Session!

I am fostering a South Florida SPCA rescue this month and because he is young and very green, I thought this would be a great opportunity for a little training session. Tango is a great horse, who is very intelligent and willing.  Please don't miss out on this special opportunity to be a part of helping Tango be able to find his forever home!

Family fun on a Saturday night!

Every Saturday evening from January 8-March 30, The Palm Beach International Equestrian Center will host Saturday Night Lights.  Gates open at 6 PM and they are located at 3400 Equestrian Club Road in Wellington, FL.  Not only is this the home to the world's most competitive show jumping, but it now has entertainment for the whole family.  Live bands, a children's fair, the Venetian Carousel and many vendors fill the property.  There is plenty of food to choose from and there are also boutiques of equestrian wear and fashion wear for dogs and horses alike.  I hear a road trip in the near future!

Many thanks go out to our supporters!

Only a couple of days left before the Equine Symposium on Equine Emergency First aid.  I'd like to thank all of our local Feed Stores for donating first aid supplies for our door prize goodie bags.  I would also like to thank Dr. Franklin for donating 95% of the items that went into the Equine Emergency First Aid Kit that will be given out as a Grand Prize to the person with the best question of the evening.  We have a great horse community down here and the whole reason I started South Florida Horse Connection was to bring us all together no matter what discipline or what breed of horse you own.  Many thanks needs to go out to John and Dee Mills who I rent The Little Yellow Barn from.  They have been the best landlords anyone could ever dream of having!  Please join us this Friday, December 6th at the Little Yellow Barn (22200 SW 152 Ave) for this event.  Registration will begin at 6 PM followed by the presentation at 7 PM and a question and answer afterwards.  If you have any questions, please email southfloridahorseconnection@gmail.com or you can call Tyra 305-992-2769.

How would you handle this situation?

Does looking at this picture make you a little squeamish?  Would you rather look away because it makes you feel uncomfortable?  Are you mentally prepared to be able to handle any type of emergency with your horse or any horse at your barn, or would you panic?  Let a professional like Dr. Franklin let you know when and what constitutes a call to your vet and how to properly handle the situation until he/she arrives?  Dr. Franklin will be available this Friday, December 6th from 7-9 PM to answer your questions after his presentation on Equine Emergency First Aid.  He may even do a demo on one of the horses at the Little Yellow Barn!  You don't want to miss out on this event-register early for a discount at:  www.southfloridahorseconnection.net

An open forum...

It seems as though every time we talk to our vet it is because we have called him/her for an issue with our horse or it's vaccination time.  Some of us have great relationships with our vet, but some are hesitant to ask a question that doesn't pertain what the vet actually came out for.  So, here is your chance to do just that!  Dr. Franklin, DVM will be available for your questions in a completely open forum at our Equine Symposium on Equine Emergency First Aid on Friday, December 6th from 7-9 PM.  Please share this event with everyone you know as we would love to have a great showing for Dr. Franklin who has been so gracious to share his time and knowledge in the ever so important topic of discussion.  For more information, please visit our website:  www.southfloridahorseconnection.net or contact Tyra directly at 305-992-2769.
