Two great events this weekend in S FL!

What a wonderful weekend coming up in beautiful S FL!  With the horse show canceled this Saturday, no one will have an excuse not to attend the South Florida Trail Riders Autism Ride.  The ride will begin out of Woodrose Ranch, which is located at 14501 SW 224 ST.  Registration begins at 9 AM and the proceeds will go the Villa Lyan Equine Therapy Program.  On Sunday, April 6th you can attend the open house at the South Florida SPCA Rescue Ranch, located at 24650 SW 167 Ave.  This event is free to the public.  It is a chance for the rescue to open their doors to the public, in hopes that homes can be found for the many horses they have in their care.  The event begins at noon and runs until 5 PM.  There will be food trucks and even a raffle.  If you think you are going to attend, they would appreciate a RSVP by contacting laurie@helpthehorses.org.

Grand Door Prize….

Starting this Friday, April 12, the Miami International Agriculture Horse and Cattle Show!  The South Florida Trail Riders will be performing.  The South Florida SPCA will have a booth set up and their mascot minis...please stop by as they need volunteer and donations as they just have picked up 11 new horses in addition to the 50+ they already have in their care!

Sunrise Easter Ride

On Easter Sunday, March 31, the South Florida Trail Riders of Dade will be meeting at 5 AM near the entrance of the rodeo grounds off of Campbell Drive for a sunrise Easter ride.  The ride will be along the shore of the bay to watch the sunrise.  You will need a flashlight as it will be dark when you are tacking your horse and part of the ride will be in the dark.  Call Manny for more information 305-469-1742 or email redlandtrail@aol.com.

S FL Trail Riders 35th Anniversary Campout

The South Florida Trail Riders of Miami-Dade County will celebrate their 35th birthday this year at the Picayune Strand State Forest on March 8-10.  The address of the event is 2121 52nd Ave SE in Naples, FL.  Both current and former members from all over the state of Florida will be attending this reunion, which has become a tradition every five years.  You don't have to be a member to participate; however, the registration deadline is Thursday, February 28th.  Contact President Andrea Sante for more information and to register at pasocorto@aol.com or 305-216-2461.
