Free Training Session!

I am fostering a South Florida SPCA rescue this month and because he is young and very green, I thought this would be a great opportunity for a little training session. Tango is a great horse, who is very intelligent and willing.  Please don't miss out on this special opportunity to be a part of helping Tango be able to find his forever home!

Safety first!

We all need to remember that horses are flight animals and we always need to be on our toes whether or not it is our own horse or we are caring for others.  I came across a sad but eye opening story that happened just the end of February at the International Polo Club in Wellington.  A groom was taking a horse from the fields when he passed too close to another horse who spooked and kicked him in the head.  He died within an hour from his injury.  This is a stark reminder that horse safety comes first.  There is a workshop that my friend Shelley Patterson is holding on April 27th in Southwest Ranches called Intro to Horses and Horse Ownership.  Shelley was the volunteer coordinator for the South Florida SPCA for many years and is a wealth of information.  For more information on her workshop, please contact her at shelley@horseownerworkshops.com or 305-495-2486.

Workshop offered

My good friend Shelley Patterson is hosting this workshop.  Shelley used to be the volunteer director for the SFSPCA, but after 8 years of dedication decided it was time to venture out on her own.  She is a wealth of information and this is her second workshop.  If you missed the first one, don't miss this one! It is Saturday, April 27 at 14715 Stirling Road in Southwest Ranches, FL.  The cost is $50 and it includes lunch and drinks.  For more information, contact Shelley at office@slpProjects.com or 305-495-2486

Attention first time horse owners!

I'm proud to promote this event for my friend and former SFSPCA volunteer coordinator Shelley Patterson.  Shelley was the volunteer coordinator with the SFSPCA for over 8 years, but decided after adopting one of their horses Luna, it was time to venture out on her own.  Please mark your calendars for this workshop, as Shelley is a wealth of information for new horse owners!  The workshop is Saturday, March 2 from 9:30-5:00 PM and the cost is $40.
