It amazes me that such a well educated woman who comes from royalty would make such an utterly uneducated remark in such a public forum. To believe that if horse owners took better care of their horses so that they could be sold for horse meat in the UK and it would help reduce the problamatic issue of "unwanted" horses is preposturus! It really sums up the differences between the European style of thinking compared to the American style of thinking when it comes to the consumption of horse meat. Here is a link to the full article.
